I chose to create fabric dolls to represent both my sister and I as we were controlled by the world around us. Surrounding the doll of me is a hand stitched poem I wrote entitled “The Window”
The Window
You think me transparent
So lost to you is the depth of me
Your stare is intense, yet so becomes apparent
it is not me you see.
I am space to be used
clear for your vision,
my ideals and needs you see through.
I screamed to be seen-
Shattered my dreams-
So I could make yours come true.
